The advantages of Samsung over Apple

Samsung Galaxy S21 Specs

Expected to hit stores by January 29th, the S21 is a considerable step up from its predecessor. General specs are as follows:

• 6.2-inch AMOLED display with FHD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate
• Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner
• Rear triple camera with 12MP Ultra-wide, 12MP Wide and 64MP Telephoto lenses
• 10MP front camera
• 4,000 mAh battery
• Supported by wireless charging
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 / Exynos 2100 processor
• IP68 certification for dust and water resistance
• Available in muted pink, violet, white, or grey
• Launching at £769

This is what you can expect from the standard S12 model. The other options in the range come with bigger screens, battery sizes and camera embellishments, along with slightly higher price tags.

Design

In terms of design, the Galaxy S21 offers the sleek, modern look you’d expect from any recent smartphone. As with most premium smartphones, you also get an edge-to-edge infinity display packed with tech to ensure your screen is clear and fast.

To help keep the price down, the S21 is cased in a special plastic, rather than the aluminium used for the S21 Plus and Ultra models. The reinforced polycarbonate material by no means takes away from the luxe feel of the standard S21 and looks just as top-of-the-range as its more expensive counterparts.

Like many other flagship ranges, the S21 comes in a range of colours, depending on which model you choose. The standard options are pink, violet, grey or white.

Following the trend set by Apple, the S21 also does not come equipped with a headphone jack.

Processing Power

Samsung has more than delivered with the S21’s processing abilities. Depending on the market you’re buying from, the processors will be different, but both deliver significantly better results than Samsung’s previous flagship models.

The Snapdragon 888 – used in the US, China, and Korea – allows for up to 20 percent faster CPU and 25 percent better graphics performance. While the Exynos 2100 – used by the rest of the world – sees even better results with 30 percent better multi-core performance and a 40 percent improvement in graphics performance.

The S21 is set to be a high-performing phone that keeps up with all of your activity.

Camera Quality

Both the S21 and S21 Plus are equipped with a high-quality triple-camera setup, allowing for some next-level photography. With an improved Night Mode and AI-powered Portrait Mode, the S21’s camera tech packs a punch.

With the new Director’s View, you can also record from your front and rear cameras simultaneously, making the device the perfect tool for vloggers or content creators.

The S21 Ultra takes things a step further with its four-camera setup made up of a combination of Ultra-wide 12MP, Wide 108MP, and two 10MP Telephoto cameras for ultimate photography and filming.
