Each year, we are treated to the release of various flagship phones, and 2021 is no different. Although there may be some delays caused by the disruption throughout 2020, we can still expect to see a range of high-end phones hitting the stores this year.

Here, we take a look at some of the upcoming phones that we’re most excited about!

The tech industry is fast-paced, and as brand new models frequently become available, quality 2nd hand phones also enter the market, so it’s worth being aware of what comes out and when, even if you’re not interested in the newest, most expensive devices.

Apple iPhone 13

Apple’s new iPhone ranges are always among the most highly anticipated. With the iPhone 12 only being released around six months ago, we’ll likely have to wait towards the end of the year for a release date, but rumours are already starting to emerge.

There’s lots of speculation about various upgrades, including the addition of a new periscope camera, higher refresh rates and 1TB storage option.

Visually, the iPhone 13 will probably be similar to its predecessor, providing that classic Apple look.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

The average smartphone user probably won’t be reaching for this one, but it’s an exciting addition to the list nonetheless.

Marketed as Samsung’s high-end productivity phone, the main feature of the Z Fold 3 is the large, foldable screen, giving almost tablet-like proportions. It’s also been suggested that this device will support Samsung’s S Pen stylus.

Other rumours also point to Samsung creating an affordable Galaxy Z Fold model during 2021.

OnePlus 9

Early reviewers are already claiming this upcoming release is among the best Android phones you could buy.

OnePlus has noted that it is putting a focus on improving the camera quality of new releases. With the improved camera setup, this model also offers a 120Hz display and 65W wired charging.

Despite being known for their budget flagships, this OnePlus is a little pricer than what we would’ve expected in the past, but many are already stating that all the upgrades make it worth the price.

Huawei P50

Huawei phones are known for having some of the best cameras out there, and the P50 will likely be no exception, with rumours of large, impressive lenses already being circulated.

Huawei phones are still unable to offer any Google apps, which may be a deal-breaker for some, but the phone itself is set to be bigger and better than ever.

With only rumours to go on at this point, we hope to see a sharper screen, wireless charging across all models in the range and a top-performing Kirin 9000 chipset.

Google Pixel 5a

Although not a top flagship model, there is still a lot to be excited about when it comes to the Pixel 5a.

Google fans can look forward to another instalment in the much-loved budget range this year. Slated for release sometime during the summer, a major feature of this phone remains the low price - however, prices may be a little higher than previous models because of the addition of 5G.

Initial rumours seem to suggest that we can expect a two-lens camera setup, as opposed to the 4a’s single-lens camera. We’ll also likely see an upgraded chipset to increase the phone’s performance.
